A convicted felon who was talking tough on the jail phone was walking away in tears after a revocation hearing in Jones County Circuit Court.
Micah Shane Stringer, 47, was ordered to serve the 30 months that had been suspended from his 2020 sentence for grand larceny in the full-time custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections.
There was testimony that he was arrested for possession of methamphetamine in Smith County in October, and that he had failed to pay his fines and fees and report to his probation officer and the court’s community service program, as required by the conditions of his release.
Deputy Brooks Bowen of the Smith County Sheriff’s Department testified that Stringer had meth in the vehicle with him when he went through a late-night safety checkpoint in October.
Judge Dal Williamson ordered Stringer to serve the 30 months that had been suspended from his prison sentence in January 2020, when he was ordered to serve half of a five-year sentence in full-time custody. After he’s released, he will still face punishment for the meth offense in Smith County.
Stringer is also expected to face more charges in Jones County for threats directed at court officials during phone conversations with his inmate girlfriend Kelly Baldridge, 26, in the Jones County Adult Detention Center. He went on a profanity-laced tirade against the judge and her public defender Cruz Gray, even after acknowledging that he knew the call was being recorded.
He ended the conversation by saying he was “comin’ for” them with a new gun he’d purchased that would “cut their mother f - - - - n’ asses in half.”
Baldridge later pleaded guilty to felonious child abuse and was ordered to serve 11 years in prison. She used meth days before her baby was born on Christmas Day 2021, and the infant was born with the drug in her system and severe neurological issues. The now-2-year-old was in hospice care when Baldridge was sentenced.
