Johnny Shane Walters | Obituaries

Johnny Shane Walters

Johnny Shane Walters was born on Jan. 3, 1970, to Jackie and Dolease Walters of Laurel. Shane passed from this life to his heavenly home on March 13, 2024 at his home at Landmark in Collins. He was preceded in death by his parents Jackie and Dolease Walters; and grandmother Mildred Walters Mullins

Shane loved his West Jones Mustangs football, where he watched as he could and when he couldn’t watch them, he would listen to them on the radio. He was also a big New Orleans Saints fan, and he would watch them all the time on his TV. Do not mess with Shane while watching his football!!!!!

When Shane was not watching his football, he was always checking on the weather for everyone and letting them all know what tomorrow would bring. His days would start by calling Tinita every morning to get her going and every evening to make sure what TV shows would be on to watch that night. Shane would always keep his second family at Landmark entertained, as well  eager to always try and win at Bingo or try and help give out the menus for today’s meal. The family at Landmark was a blessing for all of us because he was loved by them the same as his own family. The names of all at Landmark are too many to list so please know that all are a blessing to us.

Shane is survived by his brother Gregory Dean Walters of Lucedale; and a host of cousins.

Special thanks to Frankie (Missy) Walters, Jackie Walters and Connie Welch. Special thanks to Tinita Taylor and her family for being his special guardian. Shane became a special member of our family for each special occasion.

Services will be Friday, March 15, at 2 p.m. at the Centerville Baptist Church. Visitation will start at 1 p.m. for family and friends. Interment will be in Centerville Baptist Church cemetery. Brother Brian Dickens will bring the word for Shane as he and his family were a blessing to Shane. Special thanks to Brother Jimmy Hood for his years of blessings Shane received from Brother Jimmy, as he was his guiding light for many years.

Pallbearers will be Chase Taylor, Cody Taylor, Karson Bates, Kenny Jefcoat, Kyle Jefcoat and Kevin Jefcoat.
