In a 2024 plot twist, it’s been announced Jennifer Lopez is producing a Bob The Builder animated movie at Mattel. Could we be seeing Barbie part two on our hands?

Jennifer Lopez set to produce Bob The Builder movie – but with a twist
The movie already has an A-List team working behind it, with J Lo as a producer, and Transformers star Anthony Ramos set to be behind the voice of everyone’s favorite builder.
Adding a twist to the much-loved TV series, the Mattel movie will see Bob travel to Puerto Rico for a major construction job. The feature film will see Bob “take on issues affecting the island and dig deeper into what it means to build.”
The official line states the children’s character will “celebrate the vibrant and colorful textures of the Caribbean Latin nations and their people.”
Ramos will also be named as a producer in the film, alongside Alex Bulkley and Corey Campodonico of the animation and production studio ShadowMachine. Jennifer Lopez, Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas, and Benny Medina also have joined to co-produce for Nuyorican Productions.
A director has not yet been announced, however, Felipe Vargas is attached to write the screenplay.
The announcement comes after the Jenny From The Block singer was nominated for a Razzie Award for her performance in Netflix‘s The Mother.
Fans can’t get over the ‘random’ project
It definitely came as a shock to fans seeing JLo and Bob The Builder together. It’s definitely something different to what she’d usually do, to say the least.
The news may have been too much for fans to take in, as they’re still recovering from Greta Gerwig and Margot Robbie’s Oscar ‘snub’. Some, however, can’t wait to see how it turns out.
