Joe Alwyn has ‘broken his Instagram silence,’ and a lot has happened with his ex, Taylor Swift in those 23 weeks. His last post was on September 5, before the world was even introduced to Swift and Travis Kelce. Honestly, that feels like a lifetime ago…

The former celebrity couple called it quits in April 2023, and since then The Favourite star has been very quiet on the social media platform. Now, his name has been circulating the media, as Taylor Swift‘s new album, The Tortured Poets Department is rumored to be about him and their relationship.

Joe Alwyn breaks Instagram silence after Taylor Swift hinted she was ‘lonely’ in the relationship

Taking to his 1 million Instagram followers, the actor posted a photo dump of artistic images, with some memes hiding inside.

The front pic, was a black and white mirror selfie of himself, taken of himself outdoors with a a film camera.

Joe also posted a snap of an adorable dog and a photo of himself when he was younger, just days before he celebrates his 33rd birthday.

The posts come just days after the Cruel Summer singer hinted she felt ‘lonely’ during her relationship with Joe. While on tour in Australia, the singer said she was “a lonely millennial woman covered in cat hair drinking my weight in white wine,” whilst writing her album Folklore in quarantine. Although she didn’t mention Joe’s name, fans knew they were living together at that point.

He’s turned comments off on his posts though, so no comments from Swifitie’s this time.

Since breaking up, the music icon has gone from strength to strength in her relationship with Travis Kelce.

Alwyn and Swift’s relationship was always quite private, and he’s not openly dated someone since they broke up. However, he was rumored to be dating Emma Laird, his co-star in the movie The Brutalist.

A look back on the former couple’s relationship

The pair’s relationship became known to fans in 2017, although they think the two first met at the 2016 Met Gala, from the lyric “Flashback to when you met me / Your buzz cut / And my hair bleached,” in her song Dress.

They went ‘Instagram official’ a year later, and the Hollywood star was then seen supporting Swift on the opening night of her Reputation Tour.

Taylor and Joe continued to support each other at various award shows throughout the years, although they always remained private in their relationship.

However, they called it quits six years later and a source told PEOPLE at the time that the couple ultimately broke up due to “differences in their personalities.”
