Taylor Swift's one-word compliment to Ice Spice taught her more than she needed

Ice Spice is having one of the best years of her career, and she reveals there was one compliment from Taylor Swift that meant a lot to her.

Isis Naija Gaston aka Ice Spice is not a new name to Hip-Hop lovers but 2023 is really special for the rapper. This year, she bagged multiple award show nominations and collaborations with music legends like Nicki Minaj and Taylor Swift. Gushing over the latter, Ice Spice shared how the Shake It Off crooner is the ‘nicest person’ ever, whose careful observation taught her a lot.

Ice Spice loved Taylor Swift’s compliment

Looking back at the journey of her collaboration with Taylor for the song Karma, Ice Spice shared in an interview the Wildest Dream hitmaker gave her a one-word compliment that she wrote down

She had to look it up in the dictionary, and when she found out what it meant, she loved it.

“Oh! She was like, ‘You’re tenacious.’” Recalling her expression, she said: “And I was like thank you.“

Speaking of how Karma came into the works, Ice Spice said one of Taylor’s documentaries inspired her to reach out to the singer. And after a short while the collaboration finally took place.

“Taylor was outside the studio waiting for me, and she was the nicest ever, making me tea,” Ice revealed.

“She said she loves (the song) ‘Like…?’ and told me she plays it to work out. I was like, Taylor’s listening? This is unreal.”

Ice Spice ‘missed a cue’ while performing with Taylor

After Taylor Swift and Ice Spice’s Karma remix was released, fans were treated to a live show where both celebrities rocked the new version in a New Jersey show.

TikTok edits of Karma’s live version flooded the Internet after the duo’s fiery performance, as fans clearly loved the stage. Ice has since confessed she actually missed a cue while performing due to her nerves taking over!

“When I popped up out the stage, I felt a big whoosh — that’s what it felt like,” she recounts adding, “Heart just pumpin’, I’m like, Oh my god, I’m getting sweaty.

“All I saw was little flashlights, stacked on top of each other, and all I could hear was roaring. I couldn’t even hear because of how loud the crowd was. And so I was f—n’ up a little bit!”
